BLOOD CHERRIES

In BLOOD CHERRIES a woman sets off on a fantastical journey into memory and the imagination in search of the spirit that has left the body of her dying father. She travels a surreal dreamscape in which his spirit appears, transforms and eludes her. Fragmented inhabitants of her past and present populate her journey.

BLOOD CHERRIES is a solo theatre piece woven from text, Butoh-inspired and impressionistic movement, music, sound and visual imagery. It is written and performed by Dawn Akemi Saito, directed by Jonathan Rosenberg and Sabrina Peck, with visual design by Eva Mantell, music/sound design by David Van Tieghem, costume design by Donna Zakowska, lighting design by Philip W. Sandstrom, and dramaturgy by Roberta Uno.
